Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the heart of Quillan at 12 Bd Jean Bourrel, 11500 Quillan, France, La Galerie stands as a beacon of culinary delight following its reopening in 2023. After a two-year hiatus, this charming restaurant has made a triumphant return, rekindling its connection with both locals and tourists alike. With a menu that seamlessly blends high-class cuisine with approachable pricing, La Galerie invites you to indulge in its tasteful offerings, available either through a thoughtfully curated menu at €32 or an enticing à la carte selection for €40.

The decor is elegantly simple, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere perfect for any occasion. The recent feedback from diners highlights the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients and preparation. Customer Tassilo Kubitz enthusiastically remarks on the return to high-level dishes that celebrate fresh flavors. Signature dishes like the steak with pepper sauce and prawns, colossal enough to rival langoustines, showcase the skillful cooking that La Galerie is known for, as noted by Denise Mitchell. Furthermore, the house red wine complements the meal perfectly, enhancing the overall dining experience.

With an attentive and highly experienced staff, La Galerie ensures that every guest feels welcomed and well cared for. As John Hodge emphasizes, the team's professionalism does not overshadow the personal touch, making every visit memorable. However, some patrons suggest that portion sizes could be reconsidered for those who prefer smaller servings.

Reservations are highly recommended, particularly during weekends and the bustling summer months, ensuring you secure your spot in this culinary gem. Whether you choose to dine indoors or enjoy the outdoor patio atmosphere, La Galerie promises an experience that delights the senses and nourishes the spirit. Update 2024: Now the menu is back at high level. Very delicous courses with tasty ingredients. A menu for 32 or a la carte for 40. Thats quite fair, cuz high class cousine! -- Update: The restaurant was closed for two years and reopened in 2023. The prices are fair and the options for sitting outside are tempting. Reservations are strongly recommended. The food is still solid but no longer at the level of two years ago. A toast Nicoise was just okay and a store-bought sorbet for dessert isn't the authentic version of good cuisine either. -- The restaurant was recommended to us by locals. There is a menu or a la carte. In any case, the boss makes you laugh, not everyone knows puns and charm.

Great food, relaxed atmosphere worth a visit if your in Quillan.

Excellent cuisine, attentive but not intrusive service and reasonably priced

Good quality food well prepared. The servings are too large for us though, a reduction of 15% by volume would be good. House wine very pleasant, service very efficient. The waitress has at least 18 years experience - and she is very good!! Nice outdoor seating area as well, very welcome in the heat. Pleasant decor, clean and uncluttered. Reservation of your table strongly recommended - particularly weekends and during the summer. Dogs are accepted in the restaurant.

Absolutely gorgeous food. I tried the steak with pepper sauce one night and the prawns (almost the size of langoustine's) and scallops in the creamy, thyme sauce. Both were fantastic. Hubby had the Turbot, which was cooked perfectly. House Red wine is really good. Friendly service, especially as the guy is rushed off his feet. He's extremely well organised and efficient. Can't wait to return next year!

Best food in the area. Very good. If Michelin stopped by I reckon this restaurant would have a good chance.
